What is Wellness Coaching?

 

Wellness coaching is the art of creating an environment, through conversation, that facilitates the process by which a person can move forward toward desired health, fitness, and wellness goals in a fulfilling manner. 

 

Wellness Coaches are trained to help clients develop and implement personal wellness plans by:

 

  • accepting and meeting us where we are today

  • asking us to take charge

  • helping us tap into our innate fighting spirit

  • addressing mental and physical health together

  • helping us draw a personal wellness blueprint

  • helping us set realistic goals; small victories lay the foundation for self-efficacy

  • harnessing the strengths we need to overcome our obstacles

  • helping us view obstacles as opportunities to learn and grow

 

 

Who should hire a Wellness Coach?

The Process of Coaching

  • during the first session, a personal vision as well as three month priorities and behavioral goals are reviewed and agreed in detail.  Clients also commit to small steps toward the three month goals, for the following week

  • during subsequent sessions, time is spent reviewing progress, brainstorming strategies, meeting challenges, developing solutions, and agreeing on goals for the following week.

  • by the end of 3 months, clients typically reach more than 70% of their three-month behavioral goals and are energized and confident to commit to the next stage
